HB 36 – Hathaway Scholarship – Amendments

Why It Matters: Every Wyoming community is experiencing a shortage of workers, including in the fields of health and childcare. This bill helps address the problem by expanding the Hathaway Scholarship to include certificate programs available through the community college system and the university, including a number that largely impact women such as public health and early childhood. This bill is an opportunity to build skills and build the strength of our communities.

HB 104 – Child Tax Credit

Why It Matters: This bill reflects Wyoming's commitment to supporting hard working families as they strive to provide for their children. The bill would provide a $200 tax credit per child.

HB 122 – Senior Citizen Service Districts – Authorization and Renewal

Why It Matters: As Wyoming's population continues to age, we must ensure our elders, the majority of whom are women, have a community in which they can engage and thrive. This bill allows that if a senior citizen district mill levy has been approved, it does not need to be renewed.

HB 195 – Credit Reporting-Medical Debt

Why It Matters: Far too many of our friends, neighbors and loved ones, through no fault of their own, face medical emergencies or life-threatening illnesses that leave them in knee-deep debt. And women are impacted with debt at higher rates than men. This bill helps address this issue by prohibiting reporting of medical debt to credit agencies. This allows hard-working women and their families the time needed to pay off their expenses and focus on their health.
