HB 147 – Prohibition of Institutional Discrimination

We Oppose This Bill.

Summary: AN ACT relating to the administration of government; prohibiting governmental entities from engaging in any diversity, equity or inclusion program, activity or policy; prohibiting governmental entities engaging in institutional discrimination; prohibiting required attendance for certain programs or trainings; providing definitions; requiring rulemaking; providing applicability; and providing for effective dates.
Why It Matters: We must be honest with the fact that women and girls, especially women and girls of color, often face barriers that prohibit their hard work from being fully achieved. DEI programs provide an opportunity for girls to reach their full potential, and for all of us to learn about the the variety people and backgrounds that create our communities.
