COVID-19 and Wyoming women & families

Women’s Economic Self-Sufficiency is Critical to COVID-Era Recovery

COVID-19 and Wyoming Women & Families was funded in partnership with Wyoming Council for Women (WCW) and the Equality State Policy Center (ESPC). This brief was written and produced by Rebekah Smith, Jennifer M. Simon, MTS, and the Wyoming Survey & Analysis Center (WYSAC) at the University of Wyoming.

The fact sheet:

  • Points to research that shows a correlation between status as a single mom and housing and food insecurity.
  • Is part of a larger conversation about women’s participation in the workforce, the importance of self-sufficient wages, and how the state can benefit as a whole.
  • Concludes with recommendations, including flexible work policies and investment in broadband infrastructure, to help keep women at work.

Mission: To invest in the economic self-sufficiency of women and opportunities for girls in Wyoming.
