Wyoming’s Political Olympics Begin

Italy is currently home to extreme sports. But we’ve got extreme action of our own here in Wyoming – extreme political action with Wyoming’s Legislative Budget Session.

Both have risks, but the long-term consequences of the legislature will be felt long after the Olympic torch goes out. That’s why we’ll be working hard to make sure things like property tax reductions and SNAP waivers don’t speed toward the finish line.

On the other hand, we’ll cheer loudly for the Rural Health Transformation Fund bill, the enhanced Medicaid rates for maternal health bill, and DFS IT funding (budget bill) to stick the landing and bring home the gold.

Just like Olympians need to hear the crowd, so do legislators. We need you cheering on the good bills and calling foul on the dangerous ones over these next 20 days.

Not sure where to start?

  • WYWF will once again be tracking bills that impact women and girls across the state. We’ll also be sending out action alerts to help rouse the crowd.

Need another way to learn and engage?

  • WYWF will be hosting a quick, low-key catch up every Friday at 10am. We’ll report out on what we’re seeing and give you time to ask questions. Here’s the Zoom link to register.

We know it can feel overwhelming to speak out about EVERYTHING (heck, you’d have to stay up 24/7 to cheer for every Olympian), so choose a few items – or even ONE item – that’s most important to you!

Thanks for following along this session!

And THANK YOU even more for continuing to advocate for women and girls in Wyoming. You make a difference!
