HB 34 – School finance- mental health services
We Support This Bill.
Summary: AN ACT relating to school finance; creating a program for school districts to apply for competitive grants to assist in providing mental health services to K-12 public education students for two (2) years; providing an appropriation; requiring reporting; and providing for an effective date.
Why It Matters: As Governor Gordon aptly put in his State of the State address, "All people need access to affordable and quality healthcare, and one part of that is mental health, a nationwide crisis. Wyoming is different... We are losing too many of our youth, too many of our veterans, and too many of our neighbors." This program would help school districts implement mental health solutions in their schools, keeping Wyoming children, and girls, healthy and safe.
