Wyoming’s Family Economic Self-sufficiency Standard

WYWF is taking the lead on updating the Family Economic Self-sufficiency Standard for Wyoming! As part of our current granting initiative, we have made a grant to the Center for Women’s Welfare to update the Standard that was last calculated in 2007. This is an important step in our mission to invest in economic self-sufficiency for women in Wyoming.

To help women attain self-sufficiency, there are a lot of partners in Wyoming who need to know what an adequate wage is. The Standard will provide a common language for all parties that play a role in helping women and families work toward self-sufficiency. These include employers, nonprofit organizations, state agencies, elected officials, job trainers and job seekers. The report will provide county-specific information on the cost for working families to meet their basic needs. Watch for the Standard to be released in 2016!
