Wage Disparity Workshops

A $10,000 grant from the Wyoming Women’s Foundation to the Wyoming League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women prompted a series of statewide workshops addressing the wage disparity issue in Wyoming. The “train the trainer” workshops were designed to provide working women in Wyoming insights into the wage disparity issue, teach them how to gauge their value in their chosen field and how to negotiate for better pay and working conditions. The original workshop trained 27 working women from Wyoming. This blossomed into eight additional workshops throughout the state. The outcome was over 150 women trained to address the issue of wage disparity in Wyoming. The workshops also provided the opportunity for collaboration with other organizations. This project was very successful at leveraging collective voices for women in Wyoming and addressing one of our most critical issues concerning economic self-sufficiency for women.
